Beach Party at the Crow's Nest in Santa Cruz

On Thursday night, Dennis, Mimi and I got over to the Beach Party with The URJ Rhythmic rockers on the beach at the Crow's Nest in Santa Cruz. The show started at 5:30 pm and there was no cover. The band plays on the beach right next to the restaurant.

Lots of local flavor and some tasty food. The restaurant gets a special permit to do this - they even have a beer and wine bar right on the waterfront.

The weather was not all that cooperative - it was foggy and quite cool (like 58 degrees).

After the URJ Rymthmics finished their set, we all went over to Bocci's Cellar to play darts and check out another band that I can't remember the name of... too much beer!

Palo Alto Festival of the Arts

We had a large group of folks join us at the Palo Alto Festival of the Arts on Sunday, 8/28.

The kids really enjoyed this event last year as there is a chance to do some street painting. This year was no different and both kids did a fine job. Sean painted himself surfing in Santa Cruz and Katie did a hibiscus study. Awesome...

There was some interesting music on three different stages and tons of people.

After the event we had a bbq at our house with Laura/Dennis/Marie/Emily/Zac/Dennis.
